Rick Mantei has dedicated his life to service—both as a decorated Air Force pilot and as a passionate advocate for his community. During his seven years of active duty, Rick served as an instructor pilot for the F-4 Phantom before joining the South Carolina Air National Guard in 1982 as an F-16 instructor pilot.

Rick’s military career includes a deployment to the Gulf War during Operation Desert Storm, where his bravery earned him multiple commendations, including the Distinguished Flying Cross. As a command pilot with over 10,000 flight hours, Rick continues to share his love of aviation by offering charity rides in his vintage PT-17 Stearman Biplane, giving veterans, children, and families unforgettable experiences.

When he’s not volunteering or flying, Rick enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa, and their two daughters. His life reflects a deep commitment to giving back, especially to military and community-focused causes.
