Recently, Rick Mantei accompanied Vietnam-era veteran Gary McCracken to meet with Congressman Joe Wilson, advocating for the benefits and justice Gary has fought decades to secure.
Gary’s story is one of courage and perseverance. After suffering a head injury during his service in 1970, he was medically discharged and has since endured lasting health challenges, including PTSD. Despite these hardships, Gary’s determination – and Rick’s unwavering support – have brought renewed hope and attention to his case.
Through private evaluations, collaboration with veteran service organizations, and direct advocacy with lawmakers, Rick and the Fund are working to ensure that Gary, and others like him, receive the recognition they deserve.
